Top 10 Wardrobe Essentials Every Girl Should Have

A couple of weeks ago I did a post about items that you shouldn’t have in your closet. But today, I’m going to be talking about items that you should have in your closet, that are clothes that you can easily mix, match and pair with just about anything that you already have in your wardrobe.

These pieces are so important for you to either already have or start investing into, since you will be able to actually wear and get the max out of them for any occasion you go to. And having clothes that you can actually count on no matter what event you attend is probably one of the best things you can have, right?

So here are my top 10 personal closet essentials I think every girl should have:

1. LBD

The little black dress is probably one of the top clothing items to have in your wardrobe, since it’s so incredibly versatile and chic. Whether you’re going clubbing with ya girls, going to the movies or eating out at your favorite restaurant; you can easily add accessories, heels, sneakers, a belt or whatever you want to pair with it, to make it blend perfectly for wherever you’re going.

2. Plain tee

Plain tee shirts are of course a standard for any gals (or actually guys wardrobe as well) since they’re great for just wearing around in the house or layering up to look a little dressy. And, the best part about plain tees, is that as long as it’s in the white, grey or black color scheme, you can easily style it with anything that you want!

3. Jeans

Most people have a love hate relationship when it comes to jeans. And I totally understand, I was once there too. However, they’re so many different types of styles, cuts and colors jeans come in, that it’s a bit impossible to hate them and not find one that flatters your body type. You can choose between jeggings, skinnies, flared, boyfriend, boot cut, etc, to incorporate in your wardrobe for whenever you need them.

4. Denim Jacket

Denim jackets are like the perfect Spring jacket that you can just throw on and head out the door with. They’re a must have jacket for day time errands and outings that are more laid-back and casual, and are a great jacket for layering over your tops or sweaters. They’re just such a cool girl jacket that I think everyone should have or plan on investing in, since you will most definitely get a lot of wear and tear out of them.

5. Blouse

A nice fitted blouse is always a good investment, especially if you work in the corporate world. They’re great for if you want to look a little more polished and professional at your job, at a meeting or even at a special event, since they add just enough chicness and sophistication to your outfit. Blouses in my opinion really make you look a lot more put together and neater, and like you really know your stuff.

6. Blazer

Blazers are a great staple to have if you’re in the corporate world as well. But again, they’re also just great to have in your wardrobe period, since they can literally dress up a tee-shirt, jeans and a pair of kicks in a couple of seconds. They can really add a refinement to your whole attire by just capping it around your shoulders, carrying it behind your back and of course just wearing it like a normal blazer.

7. Skirts

To me it doesn’t matter if it’s a skater skirt, a denim skirt or a pencil skirt, I think having a dressy or a more everyday casual skirt is really important to have in your closet. To me, they can turn just about any outfit a lot more feminine looking, and can easily take you to a chill day time look, to a more flirty night-time look just by styling or accessorizing it to that occasion.

8. Dress Pants

Even though jeans are super versatile and great to have in your wardrobe, sometimes they just don’t cut it if you’re going somewhere really dressy. That is why the dress pant would be your go-to for if you’re looking for something a little more liberating than a dress or a skirt to go in, but something more professional than jeans; since they’re more appropriate to attend to a place that’s fancy schmancy. Which is why it is a good ideal to buy a dress pant if you’re looking for a more formal/convenient bottom to wear to any upscale events.

9. Cardigan

The best way to add a little bit of warmth and coziness to your outfit, is with a well-fitted or oversized cardigan that you can wear with your favorite tee-shirt, leggings (or whatever else that you like). I think cardigans are a great extra addition to just throw over in the Spring or Fall months when the temperature is little on the chilly side, to give your outfit that cozy chic but comfy look.

10. Peacoat

Peacoats are great to have when the weather is cold out too, and are very slimming and stylish compared to most Winter coats out there. And, the great part about the peacoat is that you can wear it to the grocery store or to a party event, without having to invest in another coat. Which is great for when you have to dress it up or down for different types of occasions when it’s cold out, since it still keeps you warm yet put together.

So that’s all my top 10 wardrobe essentials. I hope as always that this post helped you in some form, fashion or way, and helped shine light on some clothing items that you may not have in your closet.☺

Bye guys!

  1. I was so happy to see that cardigans made the list XD
I have so many. I really need a pair of dress pants though, I only have jeans. And you’re right about them not cutting it when you have to go somewhere dressy.
