Popular Colors & Prints You Need To Try Out

Year after year there always seems to be some type of theme in colors and prints, that will typically reign for about 12 months.

For instance, in 2015 the color marsala was the “it” color that everybody had to have in their closet, along with abstract florals and geometric prints. Then in 2016, rose quartz, serenity pink and gingham was everywhere, and everybody went nuts for them too. And now that were in 2017 a few of those colors and prints are returning, but have come in a few different shades/along with additional prints, that again…everybody seems to be going crazy over.

But if you somehow managed to not know about these popular colors or prints that the fashion world seems to love, then this post will update you on all the cool shades and patterns that you need to try out…or at least know about.

Hot red

I’m first going to start off with the most popular one out of the bunch, which is hot red. Red is like the powerful, statement color that can really catch your eye even if you’re far away. I would label red as one of the top color trends of the year, since I have seen it on various runway shows and on bloggers who have worn and talked about this color so much it’s crazy! I honestly think red is an incredible color that has so much meaning and power to it, and am totally for this trend no matter how worn out it gets.

Check

You could label the check trend as gingham check, or you could label it as prince of wales check. Either way, criss cross lines are in no matter how big or small they are. This print has been very dominate on grey oversized blazers, as well as on high-waisted ankle pants that I have noticed in stores like Zara, Asos and Nasty Gal. And since this trend can go anywhere to a suit jacket to just casual pants, you could easily wear this trend to the office, on a date or to your local caffe with your friends.

Yellow

Yellow is typically always in for Fall, but this time it’s a bit different, since it is SUPER IN. This trend is also very broad like the check print and ranges from shades like neon yellow, custard yellow to a more darker, burnt honey yellow, mainly on sweaters or tee shirts. I at first thought the whole yellow trend was ugly and just knew it wouldn’t look good on me no matter what the shade was, but the more I keep seeing it, the more I’m tempted to buying a top that’s in the yellow family.

Couch florals

Couch florals are now the new florals for Fall, and as you can tell are very vintagy. They remind me of a print Gucci would have (or probably already has) since Alessandro Michele always likes adding an old school vibe to his clothing. So if you want to replicant a Gucci look, I would advise trying out this trend because it will instantly give your outfit a bit of a retro, antique-ish flare.

Light pink

Light pink was trending last year, but is still a thing for this year too. It’s soft, it’s feminine and a very muted color compared to the other trendy colors like red or yellow. Luckily though, pink is one of my favorite colors since I was a little girl and is still a favorite of mine to this day. So I personally love this trend and think it will be very easy to find new clothes in this shade!

So those are all the trending prints and colors I noticed for 2017, and especially for Fall. I hope you’re now up to date on what’s hot and popular in patterns and shades and found this post to be helpful!
