5 Tips To Destress & Unwind

In this day and age, it’s so easy to get caught up in our day to day worries. Whether we’re worried about getting work done for our job, to something a little smaller like cooking dinner, everyone has their tensed moments — and that’s ok.

However, we should never let it affect our mental health to the point where we’re going down a negative spiral and having constant anxiety attacks. We should learn to balance our lives and take one day at time.

And I know that sounds easier said than done, but that’s why I put together some tried and tested tips that have personally helped me with my stress and anxiety that will hopefully help you.

So let’s begin!

Take a break from whatever is stressing you out

If you find yourself becoming burdened from something, take a break. Don’t keep running to the source that is stressing you out. Learn to step back from the situation and analyze why you feel stressed or why you feel like anxiety is creeping on you. If this means you have to take a half a day off and relax, or take a couple of minutes to rest your eyes, do so! learn to balance yourself and not to pile on everything at once.

Take a deep breath

I know-I know, this tip sounds so simple, but really, just breath! Controlling your breathing pattern really does help reduce any type of fear or panick. Try to inhale and exhale to get your heart beat back to its normal rhythm while closing your eyes. Anxiety and stress loves to knock off your natural heart beat, so once you can get your heart back on track, you’ll feel so much better.

Pamper yourself

How relaxing would it be to just take a long shower, put on lavender lotion and get cozy in your favorite pajamas? Taking time to take care of yourself helps reduce stress like crazy! I don’t know how many times I felt like crap, but once I did some type of pampering I felt so much more rejuvenated. You’ll be so surprised on how washing your face or just burning your favorite candle can make such a difference!

Take a walk

Getting fresh air even for five minutes is another way that helps relieve stress. Sometimes being cooped up inside the house all day can make me feel trapped or suffocated, but once I breath in the cool air from outdoors it’s literally like a fresh restart! I find that when I go outside I’m just able to think better and just feel more stable in my emotions. So please take a stroll to refresh your mind, it won’t let you down.

Find a hobby that brings you joy

To escape from whatever is stressing you out, find a hobby that you actually enjoy and that doesn’t drain you. It could be reading, painting, making DIY’s or even watching videos on a topic you’re really passionate about, whatever it may be, find an escape outlet that allows you to unwind. When you’re constantly engaging in activities where you feel highly tensed, you’re constantly in flight or fight mode. Learn to just relax and find hobbies where you feel free!🦋

And there you have it, those are all my personal habits that have helped me destress and unwind so much. I hope that you guys can try these tips out one day, and see if they work for you! And if they do, please let me know in the comment section.
